Wed, Mar. 9th, 2011: Keeping it Green at School - Help Promote Healthy Living at Our Schools

Our kids are at school for more than 150 days out of the year. You’ve made changes at home, but you want to see those changes happen at school as well, right? Join Green Up Our Schools, the ultimate Eco-Mom Lisa Manfredi from the Davis Magnet School Earth Lab, Amanda Burns from College Park Elementary and others to learn about what it takes to get your school to be a “Green” leader in the community. Special Guest Lisa Coppedge from Grades of Green www.gradesofgreen.org will introduce you to their national green school program.

Wed, Mar. 16th, 2011: Mobilizing - Take What You’ve Learned, Pass It On, Build a Healthier Community, Make Things Happen

You’ve made changes at home, changes at work and even changes at your school, and you’re ready to pass on the message and get the rest of the community on board - so what’s next?     Join Sibley Sabori from the Costa Mesa EcoMoms club, Newport Harbor Surf and Environmental Class – Youth Against Styrofoam Campaign and Eric Chevalier from Zero Trash Newport Beach to learn about outreach techniques to enlist community involvement.

What actually gets recycled? How can you make a difference? Can we get to Zero Waste?
